Engine rebuilding service

Replaced the engine in our sons 2012 Ford F-150 eco boost. Got it done very quickly and a pleasure to deal with. Clyde is very personable and does excellent work. Trustworthy and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

The ONLY shop we send customers to for interior seal diagnosis and repair. We've used other shops in the past and have had surprise 500$ bills for simple window seals. The techs at motor city know their stuff and you won't be taken advantage of

Wheel bearing replaced, good people, good service, warranty on their work and are kind with follow up questions/details. Highly recommended for bringing your vehicle in for service.

I feel like we were taken advantage of. It takes them very long to get to your vehicle approximately a week for mine, and if you sign the authorization for them to give you a quote on the problem, JUST KNOW that you are singing a document they use against you so they can bill you for whatever they see fit. Just to give you an example they charged me $1600 to tell me I need a new engine! That is 1600 dollars with my car all taken apart, If I let them put it back together, I would have had to pay who knows how many more hours of labour. If you look them up on the Manitoba Court Registry you will see they have been to court more than 10 times. Their website says they are BBB credited, When I called the BBB there is nothing on them, which means they are not credited. Learn from my mistake and the other reviews and do your homework on where you take your car, what you are signing etc. etc. Very unhappy with this business and I am ready to spread the word so more people like me do not get taken advantage of. I had them stop all work on my car, box up my parts and had it towed out of there. I wasn't paying them one more cent to screw me over, I had another mechanic put a new used engine in for $2000 ALL IN, they wanted $4900 at this Machine Shop, and that was their guesstimate, because they didn't know if the engine they ordered in used was going to need any work. They do not give you any answers, can not give approximates. I would think, a business that specializes in this would have some kind of ideas as to time frame/cost ....but nope. BEWARE!!!!! They seem to have become very good at preparing rebuttals and learning how to talk their way in and out of situations. Like a broken record, well you signed giving us authorization, well you signed, giving us authorization... I guess when you are constantly being negatively reviewed and taken to court you get very good at arguing with people. I didn't want them to look at my car for free, I understand we said yes to going underneath, but they could have said so we are sitting at 4 hours of labour if we go ahead it could be another 7 just to diagnose the problem.....they didn't do that, they would never give my husband a number until they called me telling me we are owing for 11 hours of labour and my engine is garbage.

I did waited almost 2 weeks to fix small electric issue. Every time I call they give small hope as it will fix sooner and after some time get the call about some new issue. I had to use my car for long drive to important meeting over the weekend and hoping to fix it by Friday. I had to literally reschedule my meeting twice because of it.Finally I took my car back without the issue being fixed. Car kind of sat there 2 weeks and wasted my time.

I took my Corvette to them for a complete engine build based on their reputation within the local car community and can say without a doubt that they know their stuff.This was a very expensive and thorough build that I am glad I trusted with them and it was well worth the money. They kept me updated regularly and offered a bunch of advice to help ensure everything went smoothly.The final product took over a year and a half to finish but was well worth the wait. I would highly recommend Blaine, Matthew and the rest of the crew at Carmena for any and all performances builds. You will get your money's worth and more.
